How to Change 530xi Bmw Battery
How to Change BMW Battery: BMW batteries are usually located inside the trunk on passenger side. It is done on purpose to balance vehicle weight and improving handling. This is a 5 series 530xi but most BMW cars are similar.

Tools: A 10mm and a 13mm socket and ratchet. Remove trunk floor liner out of the way first. Remove plastic clip (image below) and pull battery cover out.
Battery location after trunk liner is removed:
Loosen 10mm bolt and disconnect negative battery terminal (green arrow):
How to Change BMW Battery: Positive terminal is under a small plastic lid (white arrow). Open lid, loosen 10mm bolt and disconnect terminal connection from terminal post:
There is a metal bracket on top of BMW battery. Unscrew two 13mm (blue arrows) bolts holding bracket and remove the bracket.
BMW battery is held in place by a long 10mm bolt (red arrow) with a bracket sitting on battery base. Loosen bolt and remove bracket.
Move power wires aside and remove the battery from the car.
How to Change BMW Battery: Installation: is reversal of removal. Manage wires out of the way and install new battery. Install long bolt and bracket. Connect power terminal first and tighten 10mm bolt. Connect ground terminal next, just the same.
Install top bracket and tighten both 13mm bolts. Install battery.
