How to Change Nissan Key Fob Battery

If you need to change your Nissan key fob battery or Infinti key fob battery, no worries it takes few minutes and is quite easy. Nissan and Infiniti share this key fob (Remote Key-less Entry) type along many models.

Key Fobs will not require any programing and should work right away without problems after replacing battery. Infiniti key fob battery is nothing special, a generic 3 volt battery and can be purchased almost everywhere.

How to Dismantle Nissan Key Fob Battery

Release blade key, there is a small tab on key fob(red arrow, image below). Press tab sideways and pull on key simultaneously, blade key will come out. Nissan blade key is used in case key fob batteries fails. You can still open your vehicle using mechanical key.

A small flat screwdriver is needed to open Nissan key fob. There are small clips all around key fob shell. Place screwdriver to top corner and separate key shells.

Work your way around until all clips are released and key fob unit splits in half.

Once key fob halves are separated battery will be visible. Use screwdriver to pry out old battery and replace it with a new one.

Type of battery used on Infiniti key fob or Nissan key fob is CR 2025 3 Volts. Make sure to install new battery with negative side (-) facing upwards and push it in place.

How to Change Nissan Key Fob Battery: Align both key fob shells together and press until it clips. Put key blade in and you just changed key fob battery of your used car. In case clips get broken (and they do sometimes), a bit of superglue will do the job just fine.
