How To Remove Passenger Door Panel Kia Sorento: Vehicle is a 2012 Kia Sorento, Fwd, 2.4L engine. Time needed to remove front passenger door panel is about 30 minutes.

Tools: Flat and Phillips Screwdriver.

How To Remove Door Panel

Kia Sorento front passenger door panel is held in place by six Phillips screws and door panel locking clips. Image below shows door panel screws location.

Lower door window glass all way down. Remove door pull handle and door handle trim covers (image below). Use a flat screwdriver to pop trim covers out of place.

There are two screws somewhat hidden on both sides of door panel. One is on left side of door panel close to door hinges (images below).

Another screw is located on outer part of door frame, right top corner of door panel (image below).

Unscrew and remove all six door panel screws. Use flat screwdriver to unclip door speaker. Speaker has three plastic clips, there are no screws. You can leave speaker attached, but if you prefer disconnect electrical connector and remove it.

Removal of door panel clips

insert a flat screwdriver between door panel and door frame (image below), carefully use it as a lever to pry out door panel clips. Start at outer bottom of door panel and work your way around until door panel clips are released.

Once door panel panel is lose, pull upwards to separate it from door frame. Careful as door latch cables are still connected. Disconnect window switch electrical plug.

Unclip door handle cable unit. Press locking tab located in center of cable holder and move it upwards to release it. Remove door panel and put it aside.
