Lexus / Toyota Window Switch Reprogram: On certain Lexus and Toyota models disconnection or a dead battery will cause master window switch unit (Drivers Door Switch buttons) to lose programming and stop working altogether. Drivers window will still be operable but you will lose control of all other windows.

There is nothing wrong with your car, it only need windows to be reprogrammed again. Sometimes this problem can be mistaken for a broken window switch unit.
Although a broken window switch unit can cause this too, if you know you had a power loss in your car (dead battery or alike) then try programing first before changing parts. It doesn’t take much time and very little effort, nothing to lose.
2009 Lexus Rx, after battery replacement windows stopped operating from driver’s side window switch unit, while still operable from their own respective switch.
How to program windows Lexus:
Turn ignition on, do not start the car. Start with front passenger door: Keep window button pressed until window glass goes all the way down, continue to keep button pressed for about 5 seconds after window is fully opened.
Lexus / Toyota Window Switch Reprogram: Next, press button up until window glass completely closes and keep button pressed for about 5 seconds after window is closed.
Check if it works now from driver’s side button, it should work.
- Doors Closed
- Ignition accessories on, Engine off
- Press passenger window button down until glass is fully open
- Hold button pressed for 5 seconds
- Press button up until passenger window is fully closed
- Hold button pressed for 5 seconds
- Repeat same procedure on other windows
Repeat same procedure with other windows. Keep in mind to do the same exact procedure on all other windows. Windows should now be operable again from drivers door main switch unit. There are times when programing fails and you have to try same procedure again.
If that happens, remove keys from ignition and lock the car. Unlock car again, insert keys in ignition and restart procedure from beginning.
