How to Change BMW Daytime Running Light Bulb (Angel Eye).
BMW 535xi E60 equipped with xenon headlights.
There are two different designs of angel eye bulbs used by BMW. It depends on type of headlights your used car has. This BMW 535i E60 has Xenon headlights.
Daytime running lights otherwise called BMW Angel eye or Parking Lights on 5 Series BMW are easy to replace. Its fairly accessible and takes about 10 minutes to change, bit of a tight space but still doable without having to remove headlight assembly.
Cars with Halogen headlights have a different Angel eye or Daytime running bulb. Halogen headlights daytime light bulb look like this (BMW Angel Eye Bulb).
If you have a 3 series BMW (E90) then you have to access headlight from front wheel fender lining, its a different design.
How to Remove BMW Daytime Running Light Bulb (Angel Eye)
This is passenger side headlight. Twist back cover counterclockwise and remove it (red arrow on image below).
Bulb is now visible. Remove bulb by twisting counterclockwise and unplug it.
Electrical plug has 2 small clips on each side. Use a small screwdriver to release them.
Bulb model is a H8, available from most auto part stores. This one was purchased at a PartSource location in Toronto for about $20.
However, you can find LED BMW parking light bulbs online for better prices and brighter looking light. Picture below shows Oem bulb info.
How to Change BMW Daytime Running Light Bulb (Angel Eye)
Twist new bulb clockwise in place and plug electrical connection. Install back cover and that’s about it. BMW got two angel eyes now.
